This process is formally called the Rite to Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), and fits those adults who are:
- Baptized in another Christian faith and interested in becoming Catholic
- Baptized as a Catholic but have not received either First Communion or Confirmation (adult Catholics needing only Confirmation can join our Adult Confirmation Program)
- Inquiring about the Catholic faith
- Wanting to learn more about the Catholic faith, especially current Catholics
The RCIA process begins with a discussion between you and a team member so that we can understand where you are on your journey. Inquirers are welcome any time.
The RCIA process begins with a discussion between you and a team member so that we can understand where you are on your journey. Inquirers are welcome any time. We begin with a new group each fall. There is normally an opening retreat on a Saturday around the beginning of the school year, followed by weekly sessions on Wednesday nights, when we discuss the Catholic faith and also host a Bible Study during Lent. The Sacraments are normally received at the Easter Vigil.
We echo the teachings of the Catholic Church and try to patiently answer any questions or objections. We believe that whether you become Catholic is between you and God, so there is never any pressure to become Catholic, and if you wish to attend only to learn that is fine.
