This feast celebrates the Nativity of the Lord, God becoming man.  This is an important and requisite step in God's promise of the redemption of humankind by sending his Son to save us. 

The Feast of Christmas, the Nativity of the Lord, is a Holy Day of Obligation.

In 2024, this Feast will be held Tuesday, December 24 (for the Vigil) ,
and Wednesday, December 25.
