This Feast celebrates the important church belief that the Blessed Virgin Mary was conceived without original sin. Through this singular grace, Mary was prepared to be the Mother of Christ.
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception is a Holy Day of Obligation.
In 2022, this Feast will be held on the normal date of December 8 (Thursday).
