What can you tell me about the area?
Lake Jackson is one of the cluster of eight cities that make up Brazosport. Brazosport has a rich history in the annals of Texas dating back to 1821. It had the first sea port of the state and was the site of the first capital of the Republic of Texas. Lake Jackson was founded to provide a town to house the workforce for the sprawling Dow Chemical complex in Brazosport.

How can I learn what ministries are in the parish?
Information on active ministries at St. Michael’s can be found on the Ministries Index page. In addition to links to each ministry page, the index has a brief summary of the purpose of each ministry.
Also, by talking to the ministry contact person, you may be able to determine if that ministry is a good service opportunity for you.
What training do I need to receive to join a ministry ?
All adults who serve in a ministry in the Catholic Church are required to receive Safe Environment training. This program is designed to prevent, observe for and intervene in cases of child abuse. The training is very useful in alerting all of us to the danger of child abuse and the knowledge provided can apply not only to church situations but also to child interactions in other settings.
For more information go to our Safe Environment page.
